Center for the Study of Learning,
Instruction, and Teacher Development
UIC's Learning Sciences Research Institute (LSRI) is a newly formed unit
dedicated to the support of multidisciplinary research on learning and
teaching, and to the development and evaluation of learning environments
and educational practices appropriate for 21st century schools. Drs. Susan
Goldman and James Pellegrino are Co-Directors.
Center for Cognitive Medicine
The UIC campus is home to one of the best medical schools in the country,
and there is a close connection between the division and the new Center
for Cognitive Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry. With a minor
in COGNITIVE NEUROSCIENCE, students are encouraged to develop an expertise
in ERP and fMRI methodologies, as well as to explore the implications
for cognitive theory from examination of both normal and patient populations.
The minor will consist of courses in Human Anatomy and Physiology, Neuroscience
Methodology, and seminars on special topics in Cognitive Neuroscience.
